The Chinese word for Crisis
is NOT
Danger + Opportunity

For several years I have been led astray by great speakers and famous people like: John F. Kennedy, Richard M. Nixon, Condoleezza Rice, Al Gore and almost every motivational speaker in the world.

They have all tried to score some points misleading us all into believing that the Chinese word for Crisis = Danger + Opportunity. Many linguists consider such an idea to be fanciful folk etymology.

When I tried to impress my brother Richard with this fallacious statement: Did you know that Chinese people have a different way of looking upon the word, Crisis? They have both the word Danger and Opportunity built in!

He simply replied: That is not correct. I have done some research on this and most people are misled by populist motivational "Gurus".

How do you think I felt. Yes, like a loser trying to impress.

"Let's kick back" the next time some hot shot dude tries to fool us, simply raising our hands in the crow telling the correct way of explaining CRISIS in Chinese.
